WhiteHop.com back in business
WhiteHop is back up after a long hiatus. For those new, it first went online in 2006 and has been online and offline at different points. It is a beta site meaning it is still in development and may have bugs and missing information or images. These issues are currently being corrected and the site is being developed but will remain online as changes occur. |

SOHH.com hacked by hackers
SOHH.com, one of the original and most popular hip hop sites, was hacked Friday June 27th. The site homepage was vandalized to include racist text and images such as rampant n-bombs, swastikas, disgusting sex pictures, and horrible alternative music. The homepage title was changed to greet users with "Jews did 9/11". News and blog sources are saying the attacks were done by either a hacker group known as 4chan or people somehow affiliated with the site ebaumsworld.com (due to ebaumsworld.com being posted on the homepage). The hackers were rumored to have done this in retaliation for arguements in a section of the SOHH forums known as "Just Buggin' Out". Other sources are claiming it is somehow related to a relationship of site CEO Felicia Palmer and a message was posted on the site reading "Have fun with your cheating n*gger of a boyfriend.” The site has been taken down for the time being.
Felicia Palmers statement and pictures of the hacked site....

Egotrip's White Rapper Show on VH1
Source: VH1
Since the first rhymes flowed in the parks of the South Bronx, most of rap's major emcees have been African American. Then, in 1985, NYC's Beastie Boys crossed over rap's race divide to great acclaim. LATER, in 1999, Marshall "Eminem" Mathers did the same, becoming the undisputed KING of RAP. But Slim Shady is slowing down, and VH1 is majorly concerned about rap's future.
Who will be the next great white emcee of the new millennium? That's the question that will be answered on the new VH1 series, Ego Trip's White Rapper Show.
Hosted by white rap legend Michael "MC Serch" Berrin (of the group 3rd Bass - the missing link between the Beasties and Eminem) - and produced with Ken Mok and his 10x10 production team (the folks behind the superhit America's Next Top Model), Ego Trip's White Rapper Show will go where no man has gone before ... to find rap's next great white hopes.
Set in the birthplace of hip hop-the South Bronx-12 contestants hailing from all over America will have to find a way to make it through challenges that will test their musical cred, knowledge of hip hop culture and their ideas about race along the way, hip hop pioneers of all hues will be brought in to school and critique our eager rappin' competitors. the winner recieves $100,000 and a whole nation of devoted fans.
It won't be easy. The run-down South Bronx tenement that they'll be bunking in - a.k.a. "Tha White House" - is far from a bed of roses. But Hip hop is about survival; about economics and class and race. Our 12 contestants will be faced with a variety of tasks that will reflect each of these facets of the culture.
From spitting fresh rhymes in Harlem's Rucker Park to breaking bread with some of hip hop's hottest icons, our Caucasian contestants will be immersed in the culture they claim to love.
But do they have the knowledge, talent and ability to, as MC Serch says, lead the culture? Or will they bleed the culture? Ego Trip's White Rapper Show on VH1 will leave only one man or woman, standing alone victorious in the original hood of hip hop.
Meet the cast...

NON PHIXION DISBANDS, MEMBERS TO PURSUE SOLO PROJECTS
 Source: nonphixion.com
After a successful, influential and critically acclaimed ten year career, New York's underground hip hop staple Non Phixion has decided the time has come to call it a day. Non Phixion released their first single back in 1996 and never looked back. The next several years saw the release of multiple Non Phixion 12" singles, but it was their 2002 full-length release "The Future Is Now", with its infectious beats and raw uncut rhymes that finally put Non Phixion on the map as a force to be reckoned with. Non Phixion soon developed a strong following inthe United States, Europe and Japan through word of mouth and extensive touring. Then in 2004, Non Phixion released their highly successful "The Green CD/DVD", solidifying their worldwide dedicated fan base.

Challah Back
By Jonathan Stempel, Reuters Matisyahu is a former Phish fan who now brings reggae flavor to the Torah. NEW YORK (Dec. 7) - They have baggy clothing, backward baseball caps, the "bling bling" and racy lyrics. And these days, rappers sometimes wear yarmulkes too. Hip-hop music, which grew out of black inner cities, isn't typically associated with Jews, but as the genre has grown more popular, some Jewish artists have embraced it as their own, while transcending theological and ethnic differences.

Paul Wall Gets Married
ContactMusic Nov 23, 2005
Rap Sensation PAUL WALL has given up the single life at 24 because he's sick of dating groupies.
The Texas-based rap star and teeth jeweller refuses to disclose the details of his low-key nuptials, but his decision to get married was a coming-of-age moment.
Wall tells MTV News, "The groupies, they been around since I was 16, that's when we started off doing the independent thing.
"I've grown up now, I'm a man, so it's time for me to make man decisions in my life, so that's what I'm doing, and just jumping over that broomstick and tying the knot was one of 'em.
"I've really been married to the hustle for 24 years, since I was born, so it's just finally time for me to marry a woman."
